Chromie Cube

I 3D printed HanRGB's CryptoCube #13 in white, projected an animated gradient onto it, and filmed the result. It looks like a render, but it is real light hitting a real object.

I put the white cube in a dark room in front of a projector and ran some software I had made for mapping colored polygons onto physical things. Then I lined the gradient up face by face and let it loop. Pixelpete handled the animation documentation.

I used to do a lot of projection experiments before the Squiggle. Here the color left the screen, landed on Han's cube, got picked up by a camera, and then became a looping video on-chain. It is a slightly convoluted trip, but I like that every step changes it a little.

It is not a digital render. There was a white 3D print sitting in a dark room with a projector aimed at it.

This let me return to the color-mapping experiments I was doing before Art Blocks, now using the visual language I had developed through the Squiggle and somebody else's form.
